I know about Build Your Library (the curriculum and website), but someone told me about this history booklist project they started and it looks amazing!

The booklists are divided into historical periods. If you click on a time period, it shows you a chart by title, author, reading level, geographic area, etc.
For example, the Vikings chart looks like this:

It says there are 961 books in their booklist at this point.
