History

History Book by Book - an awesome booklist put together by Build Your Library.  Divided by historical time periods.

4-Year/6-Year Cycle History Series

Story of the World (elementary and early middle school)

Mystery of History (elementary through middle school/last two volumes can be used for high school)

Veritas Press (all grades)

Ambleside Online - a comprehensive (and free) Charlotte Mason curriculum, which centers on History, but includes all subjects: history, geography, government, literature, music, art, nature study, handicrafts, etc.

Memoria Press - MP follows more of its own history cycle, compared to other classical curricula.  MP includes not only history, but also nature study, literature, logic, etc.  There are complete grade level packages, similar to Veritas Press.

The Well-Trained Mind - book that outlines comprehensive subjects based on the 4-year history cycle.  Literature ties in with history and the cycle is repeated three times in three stages: the grammar stage, the logic stage and the rhetoric stage.

My Father's World - also a comprehensive curriculum that is family-centered.  A mixture of classical education + unit studies + Charlotte Mason

Biblioplan - all ages, includes literature and looks like it includes geography

Tapestry of Grace - the grandma of all history curricula.  Includes 12 subjects, all ages.  Expensive.

TruthQuest History - all ages

Trisms - grades 6-12.  I don't know much about this curriculum, but I know it's been around since the beginning of time, basically

Literature-based History Curricula

Peaceful Press - for preschool to grade 6, unit study/Charlotte Mason-inspired

Beautiful Feet Books - this company has excellent customer service

Sonlight

Bookshark (the secular version of Sonlight)

Other History Curricula and Guides

Simple Studies Charlotte Mason Guides

Greenleaf Guides (review from Cathy Duffy)

Homeschool in the Woods - hands-on activity packs, lap books, and unit study-ish history

Notgrass History/Geography - Textbook-based, but includes a literature selection and geography exercises.  All grades.  Also excellent.

History Odyssey - no experience with this one.  Looks like all grades.

Trail Guide to Learning history - these look like unit studies, similar to their geography

Jackdaw Guides - very expensive, but includes lesson plans, primary source documents and study guides

Thinking Tree history guides

Drive Thru History - excellent video series on different world and American history topics, not secular

Dover History Coloring Books

Timeline Figures

Who Was...? history book series (elementary ages)

Figures in Motion - well, this looks cool.  Paper cut-outs of historical figures
