Crunch Labs: The Aurora Reflector

https://www.crunchlabs.com/products/aurora-reflector

We're halfway through Year 2 of Mark Rober's Crunch Labs, an excellent engineering subscription box company.  Crunch Labs has good quality instructions and videos, showing you exactly how to put each project together and explaining the physics behind each project.

Here's our Aurora Reflector:

Crunch Labs: Vortex Cannon

Today, we did Mark Rober's Crunch Lab project Vortex Cannon.

https://www.crunchlabs.com/products/vortex-cannon

We are in the middle of Year 2 of Crunch Labs (our last year).  It's a subscription box that comes each month with a new engineering project.  The kit is very good quality and there is a video for each box explaining the physics concepts behind the project and instructions on how to build it.

Here's the vortex cannon.

Crunch Labs Year 2: Bell Curve/Soccer Goalie

We have now started Year 2 of Crunch Labs.  This is the last year of subscription boxes, unless we subscribe to the Hack Pack, which is more for high school.  So we will need to wait on that, since my student is only ten years old.

Here's a link:

We love Crunch Labs and I count it as Physics in my son's school records.  This lab was the Bell Curve/Soccer Goalie.

Here's a video of our project:

Crunch Labs Project: The Coanda Effect

We did the project Air Ball/Coanda Effect from Crunch Labs today.

The Bernoulli Principle was also discussed in the video.

This project worked great, just like all the Crunch Labs projects.  Always excellent instructions and excellent quality kits.

Here's the video of our project:

Crunch Labs: Duck Game

https://www.crunchlabs.com/products/duck-game

This is not the best picture in the world, but today, we built the Crunch Labs Project "Duck Game."

Crunch Labs is an excellent subscription box for ages 8-13 that comes once a month and features a different engineering project each month.  It was created by NASA engineer Mark Rober. https://www.crunchlabs.com/  The quality of these projects is excellent.  The instructions are easy to understand and everything always works.

He has a Build Box subscription for high schoolers/adults also with more complicated projects (called Hack Pack).  We definitely plan to get that when the 4th grader is doing high school physics.

Here's a video of the Duck Game that my 4th grader built today.  In the video, my son is using a different Crunch Labs projects (a disc shooter) to knock down the ducks.

There's Crunch Labs projects all over our dinner table today.  I need to move them if we're going to eat dinner.

Crunch Labs Project: Boomerang Car with Magnets

We worked on and finished the Car project from Crunch Labs today.  Crunch Labs is an excellent engineering project kit subscription that arrives once a month.  We're almost finished with our first year of Crunch Labs; I think we have four projects left.  Overall, this has been one of my son's favorite learning activities.  I plan to extend for a second year.

The kits are excellent quality and the instructions just couldn't get any better.  The videos are easy to follow and explain the physics behind the project.

Here are pictures and videos of the boomerang car my 9 year-old built.  There are magnets on the front of the car, so it can move metal objects.

They give you a little "scoreboard" and every time we complete a project, my son places another gear on the board.

Week 5 Biology Co-op: Protista

Here's what we did today for our little biology co-op that I teach using BJU Press' 7th Grade Life Science textbook and lab manual. ...
